What information do I need when calling to order a Gensco assembly?
First, you should have the tire size you are replacing in the number of bolt holes on the wheel. The type of equipment in the manufacturer is also helpful. If possible, check clearances around the existing tire and determine whether it would be advantageous for the aircraft tire to be a little larger or smaller than the tire you are replacing. If you are not sure, call us! We’ll be glad to help.
Where do you get your tires?
Gensco maintains many military and private sector contracts that assure a continuing supply of aircraft tires for the growing markets. In addition, through a contract with The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Gensco manages and obtains all of Goodyear’s ground use aircraft tires.
Are the sizes listed all of the tires that Gensco has?
No, there are many other sizes available. We have listed only the most common and popular. Please call us with the tire size that you need.
Can I use Gensco tires on my agricultural wheels?
Yes. Gensco developed a method of trimming and buffing that removes a portion of the bead from each side of the heavy ply aircraft tire so that they will mount on regular one-piece drop center wheels. This makes it possible to use many sizes of aircraft tires for many applications without the cost of expensive lock ring, and bolt together wheels. Gensco also sells wheel assemblies and a number of replacement sizes. Most wheel assemblies are sold tubeless using Genseal tire sealant. Gensco ‘s volume wheel purchases allow us to sell many of our tire and wheel assemblies for the price of a conventional Ag tire alone. When using customer wheels, we always insist they use a tube and/or Genseal.
Do you have tires to fit a TVs?
Gensco does not carry ATV tires, however, we do carry a sealant for your ATV tires. GenSeal is a high-tech aramid fiber formula with special additives that will not dry out, freeze or rust your wheels. Genseal permanently seals punctures up to 1/4 inch on any tire and can be reused from one tire to the next.
Can Gensco tires be used on the road?
Ground use aircraft tires are for non-highway use only. The heavy ply in the side walls of the aircraft tire doesn’t allow heat to dissipate properly traveling at speeds greater than 25 mph on distances greater than field to field.
What are some of the advantages of using Gensco tires?
Flat prevention is the single most often mentioned reason customers give us for using aircraft tires on the equipment. Others include heavier loadbearing capacity, longevity of the tires, and floatation.
What is the freight rate?
Freight rates are based on where you live, what you have ordered, and how much it weighs. Due to volume shipments, Gensco receives large discounts for motor freight in most areas. Current discounts are always passed on to customers. Gensco never has a handling or service charge.
